+Marco Sartori Some of them do, some of them don't. What could happen is that you get a bit root, a stuck bit in memory either 0 or 1, everything processed by this part of memory will convert the original data to the original data with the value of the stuck bit (regardless if this is correct or not) and your files will be written to disk with the incorrect bit and this will happen every time with every file that uses that part of memory. And this is unfortunately not that uncommon, so use ECC memory on your NAS, always.

I believe that ECC memory is important to use if you're building something based on ZFS, because of the way ZFS works.  Other forms of NAS setups don't necessarily need it.

Only difference between ZFS and other "dumb" file systems when it come to ECC memory is that ZFS might tell you when your ram fucked you in the ass! Other filesystems get all the same errors they just don't know it until you're sitting there with corrupt files.

8,454 Working mame games. This is the complete 0.148 romset which also includes all working CHD's but of course to me, this means nothing without a complete wheel art pack.

I have a very specifically filtered 148 mame set geared towards maximum simplicity/playability. After you filter out all the Non working games, Unreadable Mahjong games, Quiz and Tabletop, Clones, Casino crap, and the DDR games, your left with just over 3000 roms.
Then after you filter out the games that have completely no sound (around 200 more titles), your left with a game list of around 2,800 roms. And the only clones I'm running on my cab are the 2 player versions of some Konami titles, some rotary to 8-way joystick hacks, and the Ms. Pacman fast hack.
