requirement but I guess not. I wonder what the price difference is to get an ECC capable motherboard and RAM."

 +bobby royster Yes. It is the most cost effecient way to do it. The drives have to be 100% dedicated to storage, and the OS is only

read with very little writing, making it ideal to run from a cheap flash drive.
I personally used one of those extremely low profile usb drives which looks like a USB plug. Some motherboards have a boot drive usb

port on the motherboard itself tho.
Only linux based OS's can do this, worth pointing out."
